Both senior fund managers and analysts undertake corporate and macro research. This is an important part of the day. In Zimbabwe, we visit management of companies that we own or are in our universe at least twice per year on a formal basis. In addition we will attend analysts’ briefings/AGMs.
We have formal investment meetings on a quarterly basis but an open plan office allows dialogue in between these meetings. Investment meetings can also be called when required. At the meetings, the investment team sets or reviews models for the various mandates that we have. Each client in an individual mandate is treated in the same way as is the dealing procedure when buy/sell decisions are made.
